If you look in the start menu, you will notice that all the items that you got in the prologue will have been moved to your character, and this will give you a little boost in the beginning of the game. Skip the prologue and you will then start the actual game. Now unequip all of the items that you have on both droids and then go back to the cockpit. In the east side of the ship is a droid flamethrower in a footlocker, and to get it you need both droids.
If you like to use guns in the game, then repair the other astromech droid and then take his weapon. So, continue through the prologue and collect all the items that you can. Simply replace Item Code with the item code of the item you wish. You can use these item codes with the giveitem Item Code cheat code to spawn items in KOTOR. Now, you will go through it like normal, but do not open the door to the engine room, and do not heal your character for these will cause you to loose items, and you dont want that. When you begin a new game, you will be given the chance to go throught the prologue. In this glitch, you will be allowed to have items when you begin the actual game.
